Does acupuncture hurt? Acupuncture needles are extremely thin—about the width of a human hair—and most patients experience little to no discomfort. You may feel a brief dull ache, tingling, or warm sensation at the point of insertion. This is a sign the needle is stimulating the energy at that point. Many patients find treatments so relaxing that they fall asleep during the session.
How many treatments will I need? Results vary depending on your condition and how consistently you come for treatment. Some patients feel noticeable improvement after the first session. However, most chronic or complex issues require a series of 10 or more treatments for lasting results. Once symptoms improve, maintenance sessions are often recommended to support long-term health.
Acupuncture is effective, but it is rarely a “quick fix.” Healing takes time and commitment. My role is to support your body’s natural ability to heal by removing blockages—your role is to show up and trust the process.
How long are treatments?
Initial Appointment: 50–60 minutes
Follow-Up Visits: 35–45 minutes Treatments are calming, and many patients find them deeply restful.
Do you accept medical insurance? At this time, insurance is not required due to the affordability of our treatments. However, we do accept HSA and FSA debit/credit cards. If your insurance policy does cover acupuncture:
Check if you must meet a deductible first.
Ask how many visits are covered annually.
Confirm your copay amount.
Ensure your condition is covered.
If you're eligible, I can provide a superbill with all necessary diagnostic codes for self-submission and reimbursement.
